Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) released a report on October 30, 2023, detailing the continued flow of BILLIONS of American dollars to Taliban-controlled Afghanistan without oversight or accountability.
Cash shipments from the U.S. and allies are reportedly overseen by the U.N. Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) and “carefully monitored, audited, inspected, and vetted in accordance with U.N. financial rules and processes.”
Why is the U.S. government financing programs in Afghanistan?
